Patricia & Gordon Anderson

Pat Anderson
Niece of George "Buck" Weaver

Patricia (Scanlon) Anderson know better than anyone the pain Buck suffered for being banished from baseball and spending the rest of his life trying to clear his name. Pat, who is now 77-years-old, lived with Buck as a child on the South Side of Chicago from 1931 - 1947. Buck Weaver became her surrogate father when her own father died. "I fight because I owe him," said Anderson. Pat's late sister, Bette Scanlon, for many years a financial writer at the Chicago Sun-Times, also carried the torch for her uncle.
